The red butterfly

My red butterfly, O how I love thee.
So small in size;
Yet the power you have on my heart
Is too big for this world.
Swiftly you move,
As if the wind is perfect today,
And the others; they are always left behind.
Why are you so fast,
And yet so slow when with me?

I love you, my red butterfly
With your large wings.
The patterns that paint over them - Brown;
Black; yellow; Blue;
Red - they glow in the sun;
Especially that large brown patch,
Light brown; it goes well with your black antennae.
Yet, why is it? Tell me why;
Why do I never see them glow
Anymore?

My red butterfly, remember the past?
When you were a tiny, plain caterpillar?
I gave you so much love,
And you gave the same.
But now that you have bloomed,
Escaped your cocoon,
Wings tangled, muddled,
You have become more beautiful
Than you ever needed to be.
But lately, just recently, I’ve wanted to ask,
Why do you stray away from me now;
And be with the other flowers?

My red butterfly; my little red butterfly,
You are so beautiful, so delicate;
You make me blossom.
I need you in my life;
Take in the love I give you,
Even now.
Can you see? This flower needs you,
Withering away.

Only you, my beautiful red butterfly,
Can heal the pain in my heart.
Let me feel your wings
Brush against me, just one more time.
It would be like the sweet, tender kiss;
That I will give back in return.
